Our Mission
Missing Piece Bakery’s mission is to create edible, personalized works of art from scratch for all its customers’ celebrations. Having a design background and being artistic are strong qualities that assist Jessica when creating the sweet works of culinary art that customers desire. Missing Piece Bakery also has a mission to raise autism awareness through its Annual Puzzle Piece Cookie Sale as well as helping to fund wishes for kids for Make-A-Wish Vermont through its Annual Beardie Cookie Sale.
The "Why?" of Missing Piece Bakery
The name "Missing Piece Bakery" has special significance. It combines my love of baking and my personal experience of autism.
My adult son, Ace, was diagnosed with autism at age 2. He has received and continues to receive assistance through many organizations & programs on his life's journey including NCSS (Northwestern Counseling Support Services), Autism Puzzle Foundation, VCIN (Vermont Crisis & Intervention Network), Make A Wish Vermont, and Missisquoi Valley Rescue.
I’ve wanted to give back in some way to the organizations & programs that have and continue to help Ace. Each year since 2017, Missing Piece Bakery donates a percentage of our sales totals from our Annual Puzzle Piece Cookie Sale to these wonderful organizations and programs.
